意志と病

病は身体を停滞させる。

思うように心も体も動いてくれない。

しかし、意志は身体を前進させる。

動かない心身を活発にしようとする。

 

意志の力が病に勝った時、人は動きだす。

人からは、無理をしているように見えるし、底力で動いているように見えてしまう。

 

しかし意志の力で動く人を否定することはできない。

それはその人の活動が尊いからである。

 

大きな仕事を社会的に成し遂げている人たちは、皆一様に尊い。

その人たちの意志は、あらゆる苦難に耐えてきたからだ。

 

様々な苦しみや、壮絶な心身の痛みも、また病である。

それを耐え忍んで、日々の小さな善行を奉仕する人は、大きな仕事を成し遂げるのであろう。

 

意志の力は病に勝り、たとえ病が身体を滅ぼしても、霊的には救いの勝利を掴んでいるのだ。
